Role: Principal Product Designer

Time: 5 years.

Responsibilities: Partnering and coaching client teams through product discovery and product strategy  for diverse clients across consumer electronics, defense, media/entertainment, healthcare, technology, and SaaS industries. Techstars, Disney and R/GA Ventures accelerator design mentor.

Team: 10 product designers and UX researchers, within a 100 person Denver office.

Problem/Challenge

  • Engaged with startups and fortune 500 clients in projects from 0-1 to requiring significant redesign or user experience improvements to existing products.

  • Coaching and transitioning teams from feature teams to product model teams.

Outcomes and Impact

  • DISH Network: Led a 16-person team through a comprehensive discovery and design engagement for their customer agent portal, achieving a 15% reduction in customer support resolution time.

  • United States Air Force: Led discovery and design for software that streamlined aircraft maintenance processes, resulting in a 53% decrease in maintenance time and doubling the operational capacity of sorties and aircraft.

  • Healthgrades MD Portal: Led user research and design for Healthgrades MD portal, boosting physician adoption and engagement by improving usability and integrating engaging content and game mechanics (Points, Badges, Leaderboards), while enabling integrations with external review platforms.

  • Revolar: Led and coached a product team from 0-1 through discovery, design and successful product launch for Revolar, a personal health and safety connected device, enabling check-ins, emergency alerts, and a 'Ring Me' feature for user-initiated calls to escape uncomfortable situations and empower users to instantly connect with loved ones.

  • Schlage Locks: I led product design for Schlage’s  first connected and Apple HomeKit enabled deadbolt resulting in industry wide accolades and successful product launch.
